Is Ben Carson an Impostor?
The problem is not questioning if Ben Carson was actually the famous neurosurgeon everyone knows him for but it is questioning Carson's integrity. This integrity was highly scrutinized over the past year since he decided to run for the presidency. There are really questioning stories from his recently published biography. It has been proposed that Carson has made up stories from the past in order to enhance his public figure. If this is the case, many citizens in the USA might not vote for someone who has lied about their past.
I think that if Carson is found guilty of enhancing his personal accomplishments and stories he should lose votes from American voters. His whole campaign has been about how he came from nothing and did things in the medical field that were on the verge of miracles. For this reason, if he turns out to not be this credible guy he is sought out to be, he should not win the Presidency. This relates to our class because we focus on the positives and negatives of these presidential candidates. Since he is a candidate, this would surely be in the negatives column if he is found guilty of lying.
I agree Burke! The American people need to know who they are voting for. If Carson was dishonest, it should definitely be taken into consideration in the 2016 Presidential Campaign.
ReplyDeleteI think that it is likely Carson is exaggerating, and I wonder how his "history of violence" will actually effect his campaign, if it is true. A history of violence could make a lot of people not want to vote for him.
ReplyDeleteI think that presidential candidates should be deeply investigated to ensure that the American people know the person who they are voting for. In Carson's case, even the alleged rumors that he exaggerated his life story will probably cause him to lose some support in the election.
